What is Destination Imagination ?
Destination Imagination® ( DI ) is a global , volunteer-led nonprofit administration that hosts Team Challenges for students who desire to bring on the total creative process—from imagination to innovation . Students take part in DI in 48 province and 30 countries ! The curriculum feature more than one million graduate and 38,000 volunteers worldwide .
Hither in New York , we are a vibrant and active Destination Imagination Affiliate .We host tournament at the regional and state levels . At our tournaments , scholar teams become to showcase their unique solutions to science , technology , technology , arts , math , and service learning Challenges , watch each other present , and celebrate their achievements together .

When Do the New York Season Take Place ?
Each annual Destination Imagination season commence at the start of the school year when students form teams and pick out one of the season ’ s Challenges to solve together . NYDI squad typically meet for 2-3 hr a week beginning in September or October and educate their solutions for one of the New York Regional Tournament in March . The teams that receive the high scores at Regionals go on to our statewide Affiliate Tournament in April , and the highest scoring New York squad cost then choose to represent our great province at Global Finals—the world ’ s largest festivity of creativity !
DI is not alone about the tournament .If students require to form a team and take on DI Challenges for fun without registering for the tournament , they absolutely can . Crack out our Instant Challenge Events as a lighter means to participate .
The Nuts & Bolts
New York ’ s Regional Tournament take home in March . Top teams advance to our Affiliate Tournament , taking seat in recent March or early April . Global Finals live keep in former May .
New York Regional Tournament registration opens in early September . Teams must register by January 15thin order to avert recent fee . No registration accepted after February 15th.
