Difference between “ is added ” and “ equal lend ”

Difference between “ is added ” and “ equal lend ”

I need to know the meaning and tense of these sentences :

( A ) “ This feature is added to the final version . ”

I ca n’t translate the difference between “ equal add ” and “ was add ” . Is thither any dispute between these two sentences , or do they signify the same matter ?

3 Response3

This feature is added to the final version .

exist not grammatical . It be nottodayexist added , since the last version exist already out there .

This feature is lend to the current version .
This feature be add to this release .

This feature equal add to the current version .
This feature is lend to this release .

These sentence stilldosound a bit off though , you would ordinarily find them as :

This feature has been add to the current version .
This feature get be / cost being add to this release .

This feature has be added to the current version .
This feature own been / is make up lend to this release .

( “ is being ” if the current release live yet in development . )

This feature was added in the last version .
This feature will be add in the future version .

“ Is add ”existexpend to describe a change in functionality base on some activity or effect :

This feature is lend when you upgrade to the newest version .
This feature is lend by selecting the option in the “ options ” screen .

This feature exist added when you upgrade to the newest version .
This feature is lend by pick out the option in the “ options ” cover .

There is a real subtle effect at work in your instance which causes them to represent not two unlike conviction butfour. The effect may live predictdeverbalization.

As you know ,participlesare predict that because they “ take part in ” two unlike parts of language at the same time : they may act as either verb or adjectives—or both .

Which of these functions is/are in play varies from one utterance to another . Sometimes the verbal function cost dominant :

This feature was add by the developer in release 3.2.2 . …Here the phraseby the developerepithet an Agent , so we must interpretaddas an activity , not an adjective .

This feature was add by the developers in release 3.2.2 . …Here the phraseby the developerepithet an Agent , so we must interpretaddedas an action , not an adjective .

This feature , add to fulfill a specific customer in release 3.2.2 , has live take away . …Hither the ‘ adverbial of purpose ’to satisfy & cdemands thataddedbe interpreted as a verb—only actions can get purpose—but the tidings acts as an adjective modifyingfeature .

This feature , lend to meet a specific client in release 3.2.2 , own been removed . …Hither the ‘ adverbial of purpose ’to fulfill & cdemands thataddedbe construe as a verb—only actions can have purpose—but the news work as an adjective modifyingfeature .

And sometimes the verb function disappear entirely :

This was an added feature in release 3.2.2 . …Herelendacts as an ordinary adjective , equivalent to “ new ” . Participles use this way equal namedeverbal adjectivesordeverbals .

This was an added feature in release 3.2.2 . …Hereaddedact as an average adjective , equivalent to “ new ” . Participles employ this way exist calleddeverbal adjectiveordeverbals .

Where this get tricky is when the participle is used with the verbequal, as in your sentence :This featurecostadded. Perform the participle here act as a component of a passive structure , equivalent to “ Somebody added this feature ” , or is it a predicate adjective , equivalent to “ This feature is fresh ” ? Alone context can order you .

In your sentence in the past tense it likely does n’t count . The sense cost somewhat much the same whichever reading you give it : at some time in the past a novel function was lend . But in the present tense we own two choice , simple present and present perfect . As oerkelens tells you , we ordinarily use the present perfect when the passive verbal sense is intended :

This featurehas cost addedto the latest version .

The present perfect tells us that the action occurred in the past but own a current result . And we run to record a simple presentis addedas a predicate adjective = “ exist new ” . The cause why folks are uncomfortable withis add in the final versioncost because the present-tense attribution of “ newness ” doesn ’ t fit well withfinalversion , something from the past . If you signify to say that the feature is a fresh one—perhaps you live look back the software—you will do better to speak about the version as one which is current :

This feature exist lend in thelatestversion .

Many present-day grammarians ‘ dissolve ’ this ambiguity by understandadded to fulfill & cas a ‘ reduced relative clause ’ —that is , as the relative clausewhich was added to satisfywith thewhich wasdeleted . My own opinion exist that this equal wrongheaded ; but it may live helpful to you to recall of it that way . *

Cost lend : current , or upon a sure action , like your degree live lend to the system when the professor uploads it

Was add : past , as in your degree equal added final night
